The building with a total capacity of over 24 000 cubic metres offers about 38 000 square metres of usable floor space and 6 000 square metres of gross covered area. The glass elevation is decorated with stones made of unique granite. The flooring in the patio is made of granite , and in the middle of it an innovative fountain construction with computer-operated nozzles is used. Some inventive energy-saving and environmentally-friendly solutions were also applied in the building, for instance the heating and cooling of the garage rooms with the air from the office space. The garage ventilation system has been used interchangeably for living needs and for any case of fire emergency. The Metropolitan building can be rated as one of the most technologically advanced buildings in Europe. There are three independent parts, each of them having a skeleton with separated communication, sanitary space, installations and power generators. Area for services is located on the ground floor. There is a two-storey underground garage space and the upper one is suitable for delivery vans and other cars serving the building. |
